Introduction

The Automation and Control Engineering Technology was established in 2007 pursuant to Decision No. 472/QĐ-BGD & DT signed on January 24, 2007 by the MOET. This program is one of the strongest majors that supply the technical human resource for industrial zones in Dong Nai and neighboring areas. This major offers programs in vocational training, college and undergraduate education. Till now, there have been more than 200 students graduated from the program and 95% of them have good jobs in the fields of automation and control. Most of them work in the industrial zone in Dong Nai Province and neighboring areas such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province, etc. Some students took their master and doctoral degree programs and became lecturers at some other universities in Vietnam. The academic program and curricula are continuously developed with particular emphasis on developing students’ skills to meet the fundamental requirements of the industries. Each graduate from the program is expected to have the ability and passion to work effectively and have good ethics.

Missions

Our mission is to create the best learning environment for students, apply the professional knowledge to solve specific problems in the field of automated control technology, as well as, carry out research activities in technology transfer to meet the needs of high-quality human resources in Vietnam and ASEAN countries.

Vision

Our vision is to become a national leader in educating of Automation and Control Engineering Technology by emphasizing the research and practice-oriented teaching and training to dedicate high-quality engineering education and to effort to solve the practical problems in the industries. We wishes to become a leading unit in application deployment and technology transfer in Vietnam by 2030.

Programme requirements

In order to enroll in the program, students should be diligent, patient, hard-working, dynamic and careful so that they can successfully deal with meticulous matters. Moreover, they are required to have logical thinking, and technical passion, especially in the field of automation. In addition, they should show special interests in doing scientific research and actively keeping their knowledge up-to-date.

What do students learn?

Upon enrolling in the program, students will be provided with the knowledge and skills in one of the fields such as controlling devices and automation systems, automating the production lines and communication in the industry, supervising control and data acquisition system (SCADA), manufacturing and controlling Robots, applying image processing technologies in practical industries, and proficiently using professional soft-wares for designing and simulating such as STEP 7 professional, LabView, automation studio, GT designer, TIA Portal, Vijeo Citect, etc. Moreover, students are equipped with more skills to meet the needs of businesses from their 3rd and 4th year. They are enabled to practice in modern experiment centers such as Samsung electronics, Viettel Group, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Posts and Telecommunications Group, General Electric VN, Bosch Group (Germany), Bien Hoa Electronics Company, etc. Besides, students are encouraged to improve their English skills to easily handle foreign documents and operate machinery. They are also required to join several activities to develop their professional skills through the academic clubs, technology contests, seminars, scientific research activities, etc.

What do graduates do?

Graduates can effectively work for electronics - informatics - automation research institutes, technology application institutes, integrated circuit design centers, high-tech zones, teaching or researching at universities specializing in automation control, domestic and foreign manufacturing enterprises and provide technical consultation, automatic equipment trading or technology transfer, etc.
