LG Students Explore Customs Declaration in the Digital Age: From Errors to Violations and Practical Lessons in Customs Compliance

Amid the profound impact of digital transformation on logistics and international trade, customs declaration requires not only specialized professional knowledge but also accuracy, diligence, and a thorough understanding of legal and regulatory requirements. To provide students with practical insights into these challenges, the Logistics Club of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at Lac Hong University (LHU) organized a seminar entitled “Customs Declaration in the Digital Age: From Errors to Violations – Navigating the Fine Line in Customs Compliance.”

On the afternoon of October 10, 2026, the Logistics Club held the seminar at Hall A301, Campus 1, Lac Hong University, featuring Ms. Do Thi Hong Chau, Manager of the Customs and Logistics Legal Advisory Department at W&A Consulting Co., Ltd. The seminar was part of the Logistics Club’s professional development activities for the 2026–2027 academic year, designed for students majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, as well as those interested in import–export operations and customs procedures.

Addressing a highly practical and professionally relevant topic, the seminar focused on a critical issue in international trade operations: the distinction between procedural errors and regulatory violations in customs declarations. This subject is particularly important for students seeking to understand customs declaration procedures, legal compliance obligations, and potential risks arising from customs-related activities in business operations.

Drawing on the speaker’s professional expertise, the seminar provided students with valuable opportunities to connect their academic knowledge with the practical requirements of customs operations in an increasingly digitalized environment. In particular, understanding potential procedural errors and strengthening awareness of regulatory compliance are essential foundations for developing accuracy, diligence, and professional responsibility in logistics and import–export activities.

Beyond enhancing specialized knowledge, the seminar also broadened students’ understanding of the competencies required in contemporary professional environments. In addition to mastering operational procedures, logistics professionals must continuously update their knowledge of legal regulations, adapt to technological advancements, develop analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and identify potential risks to minimize errors in professional practice.

Through its professional seminars, the Logistics Club continues to strengthen its role as a bridge connecting the Faculty, industry partners, and students, creating opportunities for learners to acquire practical knowledge, engage with industry experts, and progressively develop a professional mindset. This initiative also reflects the Faculty of Finance and Accounting’s commitment to aligning academic education with the evolving demands of the labor market.

The Faculty of Finance and Accounting at Lac Hong University extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Do Thi Hong Chau and W&A Consulting Co., Ltd. for their valuable participation and for sharing professional expertise and practical experience with students. Collaboration between the University and industry professionals contributes to meaningful learning experiences, enabling Logistics and Supply Chain Management students to broaden their knowledge, strengthen their professional awareness, and better prepare for their future careers.

The seminar not only enhanced students’ understanding of customs declaration in the digital age but also reinforced an essential principle: In logistics and international trade operations, professional expertise must always be accompanied by accuracy, accountability, and a strong commitment to legal and regulatory compliance.
