LHU opens the 9th AUN-QA Institutional Assessment

At 9:00 on June 10th 2024, the collective pedagogical of Lac Hong University celebrated the inauguration of the 9th AUN-QA Institutional Assessment at Lac Hong University. On behalf of Lac Hong University, the participants were PhD. Do Thi Lan Dai – Chairman of the School Council, PhD. Lam Thanh Hien – Director of the school, along with the gentlemen and ladies in the school council, the School Board of Directors and the leaders of the units at school.

The evaluation team included: Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti, Executive Director of AUN, and Deputy Prof., PhD. Tan Kay Chuan – National University of Singapore – Chief of the evaluation; Prof., PhD. Shahrir Abdullah – Kebangsaan University of Malaysia; Prof., PhD. Satria Bijaksana – Bandung Institute of Technology; Deputy Prof., PhD. Evangeline P. Bautista – Vien Dong University; Deputy Prof., PhD. Kamolwan Lueprasert – King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi of Technology and Deputy Prof., PhD. Eric Wibison – Surabaya University.

After the opening session, the team worked with each stakeholder to interview and collect evidence. The evaluation period lasted from June 10th to June 14th, 2024.

With the desire to build an advanced, modern learning and teaching environment that meets the labor market's demands in the era of international integration, Lac Hong University is determined to carry out quality assessments of educational institutions following the AUN-QA evaluation standards.

Lac Hong University (LHU) is proud to be the first university in Vietnam to participate in the quality assessment of institutions under the AUN-QA 3.0 standard. AUN-QA 3.0 consists of 15 standards and 60 criteria, focusing on three key areas: strategic quality assurance, system quality assurance, and functional quality assurance. So far, eight educational institutions in Southeast Asia have met the AUN-QA standards, including three Vietnamese universities: Ho Chi Minh City University of Science in January 2017; International University in November 2018; and Ho Chi Minh Polytechnic University in September 2017. 

In July 2023, AUN-QA released a  3.0 version with significant changes, reducing from 25 to 15 standards and from 111 to 60 criteria, with some additions focusing on school activities towards sustainable development goals. Accordingly, LHU is the first school in Vietnam to conduct an educational institution-level assessment according to this set of standards. This is the ninth evaluation of AUN-QA 3.0. Their eighth evaluation occurred at the University of Santo Tomas (Philippines).
