On the morning of March 7, a delegation from Busan city, including Mr. Kim Dong Wook – Director of International Exchange Office, Manager Jun Me Kyeung and Specialist Joo Huyn Hoo paid a working visit to Lac Hong University. The delegation was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Luong – Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Tran Huu Yen Loan, M.A - Head of Korean Studies and specialists from the International Relations Center.

At the working session, Mr. Kim Dong Wook expressed his wish for Lac Hong University to establish cooperative programs with several universities in Busan, Korea. These programs may include sending Lac Hong’s students to undertake six-month internships in Korea or offering opportunities for junior and senior students majoring in Korean Studies or Engineering to study at universities in Busan. If the programs are carried out, students could not only find jobs at Korean companies in Vietnam but also have the opportunity to pursue higher education in Korean. Mr. Kim also emphasized that interns would work at enterprises in Busan city. In addition, they may receive a six-month scholarship worth between US $3,500 and US $4,000 if they achieve good grades. The program is designed for both Korean Studies and Engineering students who perform well and possess strong foreign language skills.
At the reception, Dr. Tran Thi Thu Luong her sincere appreciation to the Busan delegates for their visit. She also expressed her wish to strengthen ties between the Lac Hong University and Korean universities.
Cooperative programs with Korean universities in particular and international institutions in general have provided Lac Hong students with valuable learning opportunities. If the programs are realized effectively, the students can enhance their foreign language proficiency as well as working skills, thereby improving their future career prospects.
