LHU students participated in 2022 EPICS contest

Recently, LHU's team including students from Faculty of IT and Faculty of Mechatronics - Electronics joined in the 2022 EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) contest which took place at HCM University of Technical Education.

The EPICS final showcase attracted 27 teams from 6 technical universities as partners of the BUILD-IT Project

This is the sixth time the EPICS program has been held in Vietnam, and also the fifth time in cooperation with Dow Vietnam STEM Program. The Project aims to promote University - Industry learning and development through Innovation and Tchnology, supported by the USAID, implemented by Arizona State University and Dow Vietnam STEM Program, jointly supporting students' innovation and learning through projects at Vietnamese universities.

The 2022 EPICS competition organized by the USAID BUILD-IT and Dow Vietnam STEM Program attracted the participation of more than 150 students from 6 engineering and technology universities including Lac Hong University, Danang University of Technology, HCM City University of Technology, Industrial University of HCM City, HCM University of Technical Education and Can Tho University as partners of the BUILD-IT Project.

At the EPICS final showcase, 27 participating teams exhibited their innovative prototype products and presented their projects to judges from the government, business and academic blocks at the EPICS under the USAID BUILD-IT Project and Dow Vietnam STEM Program, in collaboration with HCM University of Technical Education. This is a core program within the mission of the BUILD-IT Project to integrate project-based learning into university curricula, demonstrating the unwavering commitment of government, business, and academics to incorporate project-based learning into the curriculum at pioneering universities.

It is known that EPICS is an internationally recognized community service learning model, where students learn through not only practices, but also the process of building innovative prototype projects to solve social challenges.

Previously, LHU's team won First Prize at EPICS 2021 with "Electrical wheelchair" project
