Mr. Dang Dai Hung elected as Chairman of LHU's Labor Union, term 2023-2028

100% of delegates agreed to elect Mr. Dang Dai Hung as Chairman of LHU's Trade Union for the term of 2023-2028 at the 7th Trade Union Congress held on April 26th. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hop - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Education Union attended, directed and congratulated the Congress.

The Congress was also honored to welcome Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao, representative of the Organizing - Inspection Committee of Vietnam Education Union. On LHU's side, there was the presence of Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector; DSc. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; Dr. Le Thi Thu Huong – Chairwoman of the LHU's Trade Union (term 2019 – 2023); Dr. Diep Cam Thu - Former Chairman of the LHU’s Trade Union (term 2014 - 2019) and 130 elite delegates representing more than 500 officials, teachers and workers.

At the Congress, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong – Chairwoman of the LHU's Labor Trade briefly reported the trade union activities in the last term. For the term 2019-2023, the Trade Union of LHU had successfully completed its tasks in taking care of the material and spiritual life for all union members, especially during the prolonged epidemic. Organizing numerous emulation activities such as art performances, sports festivals, contests, summer trips, scientific research activities, … shows that the Executive Board and all members of the Labor Union have strived to complete the tasks and contribute to the overall development of the University. In addition, that the University has 10 training programs meeting AUN - QA standards and 2 programs meeting ABET standards greatly encourages and promotes the Trade Union's activities.

After reviewing the trade union activities for the 2019-2023 period, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong outlined the direction of activities for the term 2023-2028. In the new term, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union set specific goals to promote the implementation of activities to build a strong Union.

Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hop - Chairwoman of National Education Union of Vietnam highly appreciated and acknowledged the achievements and contributions that the grassroots Trade Union of LHU have achieved. She also expressed her wish that the new Executive Committee of the Trade Union would continue to inherit and promote the good results achieved by the old Committee, and point out creative solutions to fulfill the goal of maintaining the title of a strong grassroots Trade Union of LHU.

After an open, objective and democratic working time, the Congress elected the new Executive Committee (tenure 2023-2028) consisting 12 members including Dang Dai Hung (Chairman), Tran Thi Thien Thanh (Vice Chairwoman), Le Son Quang (Standing member) and 9 members.
