Promoting cooperation in education development with Guangxi Normal University

On May 17, the delegation of Guangxi Normal University led by Ms. Li Dongmei – Head of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange cum President of International Cultural Education Institute visited and worked with LHU. Accompanying the delegation were Ms. Li Yi – Assistant and Ms. Ngo Tue Quan – Assistant in charge of Cooperation Programs with Vietnam.

Working with the delegation were the representatives of LHU including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh – Vice Rector; Hoang Tien Dung, M.A – Deputy Head of Office of International Affairs; Phan The Anh, M.A – Head of Chinese Language Department and related staff.

Guangxi Normal University is established by the Guangxi Provincial Government and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China in Guilin city, Guangxi province which is one of the developed cities of China. Guangxi Normal University has 3 campuses with an area of more than 4,100 acres. Currently, it has 2,355 faculty members, 26,831 undergraduate students, 6,386 graduate students, 171 Ph.D. candidates, and nearly 1,600 international students. After its construction and development, Guangxi Normal University has become a comprehensive university specializing in training excellent teachers. Its natural and social sciences programs are at the top of the rankings in China.

LHU has had a strong relationship with Guangxi Normal University since 2018. In 2019, the two sides signed a MoU to promote student exchange programs. In 2022, LHU and Guangxi Normal University officially jointly established the first Chinese Language and Culture Center in Vietnam. From 2018 to now, 146 LHU students have received scholarships from Guangxi Normal University. 

At the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in master's programs, student and lecturer exchange programs and other exchange activities. 

On this occasion, the delegation had a talk with LHU students majoring in Chinese language. The students also received detailed answers relating to scholarships, study abroad and international certification examinations, etc.
