Four Chinese Language-majored students receive the Student Exchange scholarships

On the morning of June 23, 2023, LHU welcomed and worked with a delegation from Hua Fan University, Taiwan. 

Hua Fan University was represented by Mr. Lin Chung-I – Rector; Mr. Chien Chiang-Ju –  Vice Rector cum Head of Office of Academic Affairs; Ms. Liu Yu-Chuan – Head of Secretariat/Rector's Secretary; Mr. Kao Wei-Ying - Head of Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation. The side of LHU including DSc. Lam Thanh Hien – Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi - Dean of Faculty of Oriental Studies; MSc. Van Dinh Vy Phuong - Dean of Faculty of Information Technology; Hoang Tien Dung, MA – Vice Head of Office of International Affairs; MSc. Phan Thi Huong - Lecturer the Faculty of IT and related staff warmly welcomed the delegation.

The two sides exchanged educational cooperation programs

Hua Fan University is the first private Taiwanese university established by the Buddhist community among the Chinese speaking countries. It currently offers Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees in 13 fields of study. In December, 2022, LHU and Hua Fan University signed a MoU on educational cooperation between the two sides. 

At the meeting, Hua Fan University wished to implement cooperation programs between the two sides and award exchange scholarships to students of LHU. Also, the two sides discussed scholarship programs for students of the Faculty of Information Technology, one of the strengths of the two universities. Benefits as well as the learning environment for students in the exchange program were also introduced.

On the same day, Hua Fan University interviewed students majoring in Chinese Language. After the interviews, the four students were selected to study in Taiwan in September 2023. The scholarships include exemption from tuition and dormitory fees.
