Scientific seminar to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Department of Korean Studies

On December 23, 2023, the Department of Korean Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies successfully organized a scientific seminar entitled “The situation and prospects of Korean Studies training in Vietnam” in celebration of its 20th anniversary of establishment (2003-2023).

The seminar attracted the participation of Korean language training facilities in Vietnam along with researchers, lecturers and students who are interested in and researching Korean Studies.

Experiencing 20 years of foundation and development, the Department has trained and equipped students with in-depth knowledge of Korean language, culture, history and economy. Thereby, students have the opportunity to promote their extensive understanding of Korea and build a solid foundation for future research in Korean Studies.

The seminar is also a place for researchers and experts in Korean Studies to exchange and share knowledge and experience on teaching methods, latest studies, as well as development trends. Researchers' presentations focused on Korea-related research in the fields of culture, language, literature, economics and others. With new and rich information, these presentations provided all participants with a deeper and more comprehensive view of the Korean country, language and unique culture.

The seminar brought valuable and memorable experiences to the community of researchers, lecturers, students and those interested in Korean Studies. Through the event's success, more cooperation opportunities between Korean language training universities in Vietnam and abroad are hoped to be expanded to bring more learning and research opportunities to students, while contributing to enhancing cultural understanding and cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.
