Lac Hong University attended the program "Students with Climate Change" 2010.

On December 9th and 10th, 2010, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Central Vietnam Student Association in coordination with the National Target Program to Respond to Climate Change held a seminar with the theme "Vietnamese Students with Climate Change" for thousands of students. Lac Hong University was honored to be selected as the only representative in Dong Nai province participating in the program. Attending the program were also Southern region’s university representatives including the University of Science, University of Technology (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), Binh Duong University and Can Tho University.

The program aims to raise students’ awareness of climate change by doing some specific ways such as encouraging the use of clean energy, planting more trees, turning off electrical appliances  when  stop using, not using nylon bags and so on, giving students opportunities to exchange and share knowledge as well as solutions to cope with climate change in Vietnam and in the world.

Five presentations of Science- Environment students from the schools discussed the current status of climate change in the world. The students had lively discussions around the awareness of the vagaries of the global climate, and also proposed positive solutions to deal with current climate change situation. In particular, the speech of Lac Hong University was evaluated as one of the best ones by the Organization Board. Besides, the students introduced some effective and practice propaganda models of environmental protection in their localities such as collecting waste batteries, setting up clubs and teams to increase students’ and local people’ s awareness of environment.

Especially in the evening of 10th, at hall A5 of Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, the contest "Vietnamese Students with Climate Change" of the five universities took place. After three rounds of knowledge, skits and dramatic eloquence, the University of Natural Sciences won the fist prize. The second one belonged to the University of Technology, and Lac Hong University and the  two other schools shared the same third prizes.

Hopefully, with this exchange program, students will be more conscious of the increasing climate change and there will be more practical actions to protect our Earth.
