       Enthusiasm for education and training, great affection for people, full love to the hometown - styles of Dr. Tran Hanh - Rector of Lac Hong University.

        Busy at his school management, Dr. Tran Hanh is not only concerned for teaching and learning but also interested in teaching staff’ s food and clothing, rice and money and students’ lives. He is always thinking of the poor and studious students and poor pupils in Quang Tri where he was born. Particularly, he offered students hundred of scholarships that he had accumulated.

 

       In addition to leadership, TS. Tran Hanh are the head of many scientific studies bringing highly economic efficiency such as construction of electronic business administration system, industrial glass-wall cleaning robots for high-rise buildings,  research on application of some cryptographic algorithms for internet key exchange, health care management for Dong Nai hospital, test scoring machine, multiple-choice test scoring machine and so on. His scientific works are transferred to many localities inside and outside the province.

 

      Seen as a "captain" to pilot LHU "boat", Dr. Tran Hanh has given rises to the emulation movement of teachers’ and students’ teaching and learning. They all do scientific research together and valuable topics deserve rewards, making great contributions to LHU’s development of training quality. The most impressive one is probably that Robocon LHU won the second prize of the Asia – Pacific Robocon held in Egypt recently.

 

IMPRESSIONS OF YOU ON A "CAPTAIN"

     Since 2003, Dr. Tran Hanh has been appointed as the Rector by LHU Board of Trustees. Since then, he has had many directive initiatives to build united training programs in the university. Training programs of the school aim at learners, self-study with instructions, scientific implementation of training philosophy, laying the solid foundations of students with basic knowledge in order to thriftily develop the potential of learners, contributing to the development of its education.

     Soft but definite, it is the character of Dr. Tran Hanh. He always listens to the opinions of teaching staff to build better schools and organize meetings with students, showing the spirit of democracy and instructing students to acquire more life skills to make good preparations for their real lives. In many conferences and seminars, Dr. Tran Hanh has repeatedly reminded the participants to actively speak.  He is willing to open to a good idea or a valuable lesson, helping him complete his assigned tasks. Many students have graduated from this school, but they have still replied to send thanks to the teacher who had taught them to be definitive in work, thus helping them have serious working styles.

 

THE HEART OF THE PHD HOLDER
 

     Born in Quang Tri, despite the ground full of bombs at that time, he still tried to study and today, the child of Quang Tri has become a researcher who is holding Doctor’s degree in mathematics. Having won his laurels, he returned his birthplace to respond to it. For the past four years, he has funded more than 4 billion VNDs for charitable work, especially for study and talent promotion. He has established Tran Hanh scholarship to offer poor but excellent students, children of martyrs' and wounded soldiers' families in Quang Tri. Every year, he along with LHU student Union directly grants a large number of scholarships for needy students on July 27. At the opening ceremony of the academic year 2010-2011, he donated 300 million VNDs to the school's scholarship fund and 6 tons of rice to the student kitchen. He also encouraged teachers and staff to save a bowl of noodles each month for the kitchen to help students reduce difficulties in their daily lives to be able to keep their minds on their studies. Rich in enthusiasm for education - training and in love for people, Dr. Tran Hanh always advises his students to learn to become knowledgeable persons as a foundation for their families and contribute to the homeland ‘s development.

 

    With the great contributions to education, Dr. Tran Hanh has been awarded the Third-class Labor Medal by the President and the Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister. Confiding to us, he said that his great joy is his colleagues work together to contribute to LHU’s development with real value, helping students be confident when entering the university.
