LHU students win three-times at Shell Eco marathon Asia

After unexpected triumph of LH – EST team in Singapore on March 18, some press units told the news about LHU's three-time championship at the fuel-efficiency vehicle competition of Shell Eco-marathon Asia (SEM).

 Thanh Nien Newspaper and VNExpress Newspaper told the news about LHU's championship for three consecutive years.

The Shell Eco marathon Asia competition aims to encourage student generations uphold creative ideas of energy saving which can be applied into reality. Before this global meaning, the competition not only welcomes the participation of educational units leading in technology design and creativeness in Vietnam and Asian region, but also attracts the attention of enterprises in fuel field. Participating teams compete in two categories: Prototype and Urban Concept with fuels including gasoline, ethanol and electric battery.

LHU students won the championship for three consecutive years

LHU team firstly participated in the 2014 competition at Urban Concept vehicle category with ethanol fuel. In 2015, LHU's LH – Gold Energy team took first place with a result of 164.4 kilometers per liter of ethanol E100 and Second prize for Best Video clip award. This was the first team of Vietnam to win at SEM.

LHU team triumphed at SEM 2016.

At SEM 2016 held in Manila, the Philippines, LHU's LH – Gold Energy team continued Urban Concept vehicle category with ethanol fuel. Here, they had successfully defended its championship title with a result of 185 kilometers per liter of ethanol E100.

LHU students firstly applied electric energy in their invention.

At SEM 2017 held in Singapore, LHU team continued challenging itself. LH – EST team designed its vehicle run by electric battery. After dramatic competition, before overwhelming achievement of Philippines’s team, LHU's LH – EST team had excellently won the championship at Urban Concept category with a result of 107.8 kilometers per Kwh of electricity. This mark acknowledges LHU team's achievement of winning the championship for three consecutive years at Shell Eco-marathon Asia.
