Academic and cultural exchange with lecturers from Minghsin University of Science and Technology

On October 4, 2025, students of LHU had the opportunity to participate in a special exchange session with two lecturers from the Chinese Language Center, Minghsin University of Science and Technology (Taiwan). The program featured three engaging parts, offering participants not only valuable linguistic knowledge but also enriching cultural experiences.

Part 1: Academic exchange

The lecturers introduced students to several useful websites for self-study and online TOCFL preparation, such as https://tocfl.edu.tw/tocfl/. During the session, students also had the opportunity to practice test questions, making their language learning experience more engaging and interactive.

The classroom atmosphere became even more vibrant with a Chinese vocabulary game where each correct answer was rewarded with an exciting gift. Students then learned about the structure of Chinese characters, rules of stroke order, and joined an entertaining “Guess the ancient Chinese character” game.

A highlight of the academic part was the Chinese singing activity featuring the song 我的未来不是梦 (My future is not a dream), guided by Ms. Lam Tiep. With its cheerful melody and meaningful lyrics, the song conveyed a positive message - live wholeheartedly and keep pursuing your dreams, for “the future is not a dream”.

Part 2: Introduction to the INTENSE Talent Scholarship Program

Ms. Ly Hai Yen shared practical information about the INTENSE Talent Scholarship Program, funded by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, particularly the support policies for students who have achieved the A2 proficiency level. This valuable opportunity opens doors for LHU students to study and research in Taiwan.

Part 3: Cultural experiences

Beyond language learning, students immersed themselves in the beauty of traditional Chinese culture. During the program, they crafted lanterns and wrote wishes and blessings for their family and friends. In addition, Ms. Trieu Than Du guided students in the delicate art of paper cutting and introduced ways to apply it in making greeting cards.
