LHU presents its Chinese Language workforce training strategy at 2025 World Chinese Language Conference

On the morning of November 15, 2025, at a parallel forum of the 2025 World Chinese Language Conferencem held in Beijing, PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh – Head of the Office of International Affairs, delivered a presentation on LHU’s strategy for training Chinese Language human resources to education leaders, academic experts, and business representatives from various countries.

The parallel forum, themed “Practices and Innovation in the Cultivation of Application-Oriented Chinese Language Professionals" featured international speakers including Prof. Dekena Lukas – Minister of Education of Papua New Guinea; Prof. Cui Yonghua – Beijing Language and Culture University; leaders from Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Liaoning Normal University, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), Tianjin University, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, the University of Zambia; along with representatives from enterprises and corporations such as Goertek and New Channel.

Representing LHU were Dr. Lam Thanh Hien – Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi – Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Dr. Le Phuong Truong – Head of the Office of Educational Testing & Quality Assurance; and MBA Khuat Kieu Diem Nhi – Head of the Communications Department.

The presentation, titled “Practices and Innovations in Chinese Language Teaching at LHU, Vietnam” focesed on the Chinese language learning boom in Vietnam, where Chinese has shifted from a “language of interest” to a “language of employability”. The presentation showcased several pioneering innovations implemented at LHU, including:

- Promoting the ripartite collaboration model: University – Enterprises – Consulate General of China;

  • - Building an enterprise-approached curriculum built upon direct feedback from employers;

  • - Developing the “Chinese + Skills” training model, offering applied Chinese language courses for students in Engineering, Economics, and Health Sciences across the University.

The participation of PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh as a presenter at this important forum further underscores LHU’s reputation and growing influence in Chinese language education in the region.

As one of the most prestigious academic and educational events, bringing together policymakers, leaders of top universities, and representatives of prominent multinational enterprises, the World Chinese Language Convention 2025 aims to discuss training strategies and collaboration models to meet the increasing societal demand for high-quality, application-oriented Chinese language professionals.

Through the forum and the World Chinese Language Convention 2025, LHU gained access to new training trends and expanded exchanges with international universities and organizations in Chinese language education. This provides a solid foundation for LHU to continue enhancing its curriculum and meeting the growing demand for Chinese-proficient human resources in the Southern region and nationwide.
