Journey to the Game Excellence Awards 2025 – Innovative Mini-Game Challenge in Guangzhou & Shenzhen, China

On the morning of December 2, faculty and students from the Faculty of Information Technology (IT) officially departed from Lạc Hồng University, beginning their journey to the 2025 Innovative Mini-Game Challenge international awards ceremony in Guangzhou, China.

Filled with excitement and pride, the delegation carried with them a thirst for knowledge and a spirit of international integration. This trip was not only about attending an awards ceremony but also served as a precious opportunity for lecturers and students to engage in cultural exchanges, gain professional experience, broaden their perspectives, and connect with international peers.

The journey to Guangzhou marks a significant milestone, reflecting the relentless efforts of the faculty and students throughout their academic and creative pursuits. Every moment of the trip carried hope and determination to bring honor to the university while showcasing the image of Vietnamese students as confident, capable, and ready to engage with the world.

To strengthen international academic exchange, update technological trends, and provide students with access to professional game production environments, from December 2 to December 4, 2025, the Vietnamese delegation participated in the "Game Excellence Awards 2025: Innovative Mini-Game Challenge Exchange Group," hosted by Guangzhou Huashang College.

Day 1: Departure – Welcome Ceremony – Cultural Experience

On the morning of December 2, 2025, the Vietnamese delegation departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport for Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou. Following a smooth journey, the group arrived in Guangzhou at noon.

In the afternoon, the delegation had lunch at Hongmei Restaurant before moving to the Guangzhou Huashang College campus for the official Welcome Ceremony at Room 401, Qizhi Building. During the ceremony, representatives from the university’s leadership and specialized departments provided an overview of Huashang College, its game industry training programs, and the objectives of the 2025 international exchange program. The ceremony was held in a formal yet friendly atmosphere, further strengthening the partnership between student delegations from Vietnam, Malaysia, and China.

Immediately after the ceremony, the group participated in a traditional Chinese paper-cutting workshop. This was an opportunity for students to delve deeper into local cultural values while experiencing the intersection of traditional art and modern creative thinking. The first day concluded with dinner at Hongmei Restaurant and a rest period to prepare for the upcoming intensive academic activities.

Day 2: Professional Workshops – Technological Insights – Cultural Exploration

On the morning of December 3, 2025, the delegation attended a Game Design Workshop at the Chuangke Building, Guangzhou Huashang College. The workshop focused on highly relevant and practical topics, including:

  • + An overview of AI art development within the Chinese gaming industry.

  • + Applications of AI in 2D and 3D game asset production to optimize creative workflows.

  • + An introduction to popular game engines and an analysis of criteria for selecting appropriate technological platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with the game development process using Unity, providing students with direct exposure to a professional working environment.

In the afternoon, the group participated in an E-commerce Livestreaming Workshop, exploring trends in the digital economy, operational models, and the pivotal role of technology. They also had the chance to experience a standard livestreaming studio on campus. This activity helped students broaden their interdisciplinary perspectives across technology, media, and e-commerce.

In the evening, the delegation joined a cultural tour of Yongqingfang, a landmark rich in Guangzhou’s history and traditional architecture. Students explored local cultural life and ancient architecture, observing how heritage meets modern rhythm. Dinner was organized as a free-choice session, allowing students to network and explore local culture independently.

Day 3: Corporate Visit – Industry Connection – Conclusion of the Journey

On the morning of December 4, 2025, the delegation traveled to Nanshan District, Shenzhen—China’s leading technology hub. They visited and worked with Zen7, a prominent enterprise in the game development industry. Students were introduced to the company's operational model, production processes, and professional environment, and received practical insights from industry experts.

The group then visited Shenzhen Talent Park, a symbol of innovation, entrepreneurship, and high-quality human resource development. This visit offered a firsthand look at Shenzhen's thriving technological and creative ecosystem.

In the afternoon, the delegation completed airport transfer procedures. The Vietnamese and Malaysian groups boarded their respective flights home, successfully concluding a meaningful, safe, and successful international exchange and study journey.
