Two representatives of LHU including Ms. Le Thi Ha and Ms. Pham Thi Nghia from the Faculty of English Language attended and presented at the 22nd AsiaTEFL International Conference themed “Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity in ELT” held from November 15 - 17, 2024 at Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, Chiang Rai, Thailand.
This remarkable Conference brought together leading experts in the English language teaching from all over the world. The 2024 Asia TEFL Conference is a prestigious forum where experts share research and experiences to promote innovation in education. It serves as a platform to share the latest research and English language teaching methods. This year' theme is particularly important in the context of modern education, as equality, diversity, and inclusivity have become core values in building a learning environment.
At the Conference, the two lecturers contributed highly applicable academic research papers. Specifically, Ms. Le Thi Ha with her research topic “Empowering Tomorrow’s Business Leaders: Integrating the 4C’s into Business English Speaking Courses” provided a teaching model that integrates the 4C’s into Business English speaking courses, aiming to meet the practical labor market demands and develop future leaders.

Ms. Pham Thi Nghia reported the research “Digital Tools in Project-Based Group Assessments: Insights From Tertiary EFL Students’ Experiences”, co-authored with two lecturers from Nong Lam University and University of Finance and Marketing. The research focused on surveying the use of digital tools in group projects of students from the 3 universities, thereby defining which digital tools used by students, evaluating the benefits and effectiveness of these digital tools, as well as the challenges of using digital tools in group projects.

The Conference is a valuable opportunity for the two lecturers to update new teaching trends, while improving the teaching quality at the Faculty of English Language and expanding international collaboration. The research papers presented at the Conference will help improve the curriculum, integrate digital methods and tools, and bring benefits to students.
